THE GREAT POLAR JOURNEY - In the Footsteps of Nansen
Nansen and Johansens epic journey is one of the greatest and most dramatic in polar history, perhaps only equalled by Ernest Shackletons expedition to South Georgia. For the first time the story is told by someone who has followed in his footsteps. A highlight in my career, says Børge.
Starting from the North Pole and skiing south, Børge Ousland and Thomas Ulrich reached Frants Josef Land after one and a half months in the pack ice. On skis and in kayaks, they continued through this vast Russian archipelago, still following Nansens original route.
The story of this epic journey is told in Borges latest book. The Great Polar Journey.
